WHO WE ARE

TRAX Equipment is a New Zealand-owned ATV and UTV safety brand with roots in a small Northland saddlery. Since 1972 we’ve been designing gear for real farm conditions – steep hills, mud, cold mornings and long days. Today our products are used on farms all over the country, helping people get home safe at the end of every day.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is simple: make farm vehicles safer, more useful and easier to live with – without getting in the way of the work. We listen to real farmers, design gear that solves real problems, and keep refining it until it stands up to Northland mud, Southland frosts and everything in between. If it doesn’t help protect people or make the job easier, it doesn’t wear the TRAX name.

1972

Saddlery Beginnings

Vernon starts his own saddlery business in Dargaville (Ranchcraft) – the seed of what would become Ranchware and Ag-Tech.

1976

Ranchware Is Born

Vernon takes over his father’s canvas business, combines it with his own and renames it Ranchware, supplying leather and canvas gear to farmers.

1991

Quad Pod Invented

The first Quad Pod ATV accessory is developed, opening the door from horse gear into quad bike accessories across NZ, Australia and the UK.

1994

First UTV Cab Kits

As side-by-sides appear on farms, the team develops early UTV cab kits and accessories, kicking off the cab-kit side of the business.

1996

Ag-Tech Industries Starts

Ranchware sells the mail-order saddlery side and Ag-Tech Industries is formed, focusing on ATV/UTV gear and farm accessories.

1999

TRAX Brand Launched

ATV and UTV accessories are channelled under a new brand – TRAX Equipment – under Ag-Tech Industries.

2012

LifeGuard Roll Bar

The world’s first flexible roll bar for quads – ATV LifeGuard – is developed and launched, winning the Fieldays Innovation Golden Standard Award.

2013

National Safety Award

LifeGuard wins the NZ Workplace Health & Safety Award, recognising its impact on quad safety.

2014

Export Milestone

Over 1000 LifeGuards are in use and the first container of TRAX product is shipped to Australia.

2019

QuadGuard & 5000 LifeGuards

New flexible plastic roll bar QuadGuard is developed, and total LifeGuard sales reach 5000 units.

2021

TRAX Rebrand

The company fully rebrands around TRAX Equipment, bringing LifeGuard and QuadGuard under the TRAX name, with more than 7000 LifeGuards sold.

We guarantee our TRAX Equipment products to be of the highest quality and value.

Any product manufactured by TRAX is covered against any faulty parts or workmanship for 12 months from the date of purchase. This does not cover wear from normal use, or any issues caused by misuse, modification or improper maintenance of the product.

Some of the imported brands we support have their own terms, and we guarantee to support and provide solutions to any problems that arise.
